ComScript includes a terminal emulator (TE) that is very useful for testing communications with connected devices. It is opened from the tools menu in the CSDU.
To send text or hex to the connected device, type it in the command window above the terminal window. To include a carriage return or other non-printable ascii characters enclose the ascii character codes in curly braces (e.g. carriage return {13}, line feed {10}, crtl-c {3}). Sent and received data will appear in the terminal window.
See the ascii code chart under the help menu for a full list of ascii character codes.
Tip: Be sure to close all connections in the TE before trying to connect to a device in a profile.
